Students from across the district had to design their own non-alcoholic cocktails, and the winning teams of each school then entered the final at South Lodge Hotel.

Second and third place went to teams from Rydon Community College and the Weald Community School, Billingshurst.

Each team had to make a seven minute pitch to a panel of judges, which included Stephen Theflaw from B52’s, a bar in Piries Place, Horsham, as well as district and county councillors and David Conell, of South Lodge Hotel.

The young people set up market stalls promoting their mocktails and their health benefits, and served them to invited guests.

‘The Mocktail Apprentice’ was supported by Horsham District Council, Horsham Matters, and Sussex Central YMCA.
