Annual ceremony marks hair and beauty therapy at college

The event was put on in the atrium at the college's recently-opened site at Station Plaza next to the train station.

The awards were presented to students for their outstanding achievements throughout the year.

Attendees were greeted by students studying travel and tourism, who offered tours of the building.

The ceremony included student demonstrations and presentations to an audience of local employers, suppliers, sponsors, college staff and friends and family.

Catering students provided an array of canaps during the interval and guests were entertained by The Hastings Stage Studio Dance Team.

Jill Silverthorne, section leader for the hair and beauty department, was delighted with the event's success and said: "The event motivates students to aim higher and celebrates success of those who have excelled in their chosen field.

"We are very impressed with the high standards and variety of their work."
