Organisers at Littlehampton Town Council have revealed the programme for next week’s spectacle – and it has certainly got all the ingredients to be one of the most spectacular yet.

With last week’s D-Day commemorations still fresh in the mind, the Armed Forces Day promises to once again strike a balance between solemnity and spectacle.

Councillor Malcolm Belchamber, the town council’s chairman of community resources, said: “Littlehampton Armed Forces Day is about honouring those who serve and have served our country, as well as providing a relaxing day that residents and visitors can enjoy with their friends and families.

“This year, we have more stands and attractions than ever and we are sure that it will be an unforgettable day for everyone.”

The event, which will be taking place on Saturday, June 28, will include an array of adrenaline-fuelled attractions with everything from the daredevil Trig Aerobatic Team, with their breathtaking display of close formation flying, to the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Spitfire that will be flying over the town.

Military might will not only be on display in the air, there will be plenty of action to be had on land.

The fun commences at 10.30am on The Green, with a traditional drumhead service.
