Arundel Castle’s best bloomin’ record to date

Gardeners have been tireless toiling the historic attraction’s grounds to achieve the momentous feat of planting, in readiness for the heritage site’s opening on March 28.

And brand-new this year will be the tulip and wildflower garden.

More than 8,000 tulips are expected to flower in the wildflower garden, including the exotic carnival de Rio, flaming flag, blood-red bastogne, the crimson-streaked Washington variety along with the yellow and red helmar blossoms.

Head gardener Martin Duncan said: “My team and I were delighted to note that over a third of visitors named the gardens as the most enjoyable element of their castle experience in 2014. We have been working hard throughout the winter to come up with our most stunning displays to date and would like to invite visitors old and new to see our efforts bloom.”

Other attractions making a return include the popular grass labyrinth, which will burst into colour in April with around 1,000 glorious tulips.
