ARUNDEL NURSERY GIVEN EXTENSION

BUTTERFLIES Pre-School in Arundel has been granted a stay of execution '“ for now.

West Sussex County Council has decided to extend the lease indefinitely while working with the nursery to find alternative accommodation.

This latest development follows concerns from parents after Butterflies was given just 12 weeks to vacate its current premises above Arundel library.

Amanda Barnard-Grove, proprietor of Butterflies, said: "I am very pleased for the Arundel community with the decision and I look forward to working with West Sussex County Council to find alternative accommodation in the future so that Arundel as a community and our surrounding villages will have a facility for early years that will be there for years to come."

The nursery was going to make way for a programme for young adults who have been removed from schools because of disruptive behaviour.

This would have left 50 children without pre-school education just three months into the new school year.
