AWARDS FOR TEACHERS

TEACHERS in East Sussex have been rewarded for their skills in teaching about drugs and sex education.

The national certificates were presented to 10 primary school teachers from Lewes, Eastbourne, Hailsham, Peacehaven and Uckfield for completing training in personal, social and health Education.

The certificates mark the work they put into developing their skills, which involved putting together a portfolio outside normal working hours.

Teachers studying for the course focus on either drug education or sex and relationship education.

Parents and governors are always consulted fully about drugs and sex education before the subjects are disccussed in the classroom.
