Four-month-old Elliott and Evan May will feature as the son of a domestic abuse victim, played by actress Rosie Day.

“We were lucky that they were chosen,” said mum, Faye Mills May of Littlehampton.

“They were newborns when it was filming and we got to spend an afternoon on location in Lewes.”

The BBC team turned an old hospital building in Lewes into a maternity ward to shoot the scenes, along with Cuffs star Amanda Abbington.

“It was interesting and everyone was absolutely lovely – they were lovely with us and lovely with the babies,” said Faye.

Due to law, the babies can only be on set for so long at a time, which is why twins were required to play one baby.

The twins of proud parents Faye and Caroline, were also cast to be in the new Bridget Jones film, but due to a change in schedule they were unable to take part.
