Battle crime round-up

Here is this week's round-up of crimes committed in the Battle area.

THREE dogs were stolen from a property in Netherfield on Friday May 14.

A HANDBAG was stolen in Battle High Street sometime between Thursday May 6 and Friday May 7.

The large brown leather bag was about 14" high, made of lots of 1cm coiled leather strips, with a flap over the top.

The bag is worth 345.

A SAT nav was stolen from a car in Heathfield Gardens, Robertsbridge, between 10pm on May 11 and 6.30am the next day.

TWO large pansy bushes were stolen from wooden planters outside a property in Battle High Street between 5pm on May 10 and 10am the next day.

THIEVES smashed a car window and stole a laptop from the back seat.

The car was parked at Great Oak in Hurst Green and the incident happened between 2am-1pm on May 12.

A VEHICLE was stolen from Heathfield Road, Burwash Weald, between 11.30pm on May 12 and 5am the next day.

Because the vehicle was not roadworthy when it was taken, the owner found it a distance from his home a short time later.

THIEVES tried to steal a vehicle from School Hill in Burwash on May 13.

The owner discovered someone had tampered and tried to force the lock on the drivers side, damaging the electrics and immobilising the vehicle.

A GENERATOR was stolen from a business in North Trade Road, Battle, between 6.10pm on May 12 and 7.30am the next day.

Thieves broke the chain link fence to steal the Red 3 Phase Bulldog, valued at 675.

The generator was stored to the rear of the site, which was not covered by CCTV.

Police say some suspicious males had been seen in the area enquiring about scrap metal shortly before the theft.

GARAGE doors were damaged in East View Terrace, Sedlescombe, between 7pm on May 12 and 8am the next day.
