Bexhill College results best in county

BEXHILL College earned the best A Level results of any state school in East Sussex this year.

Government figures show that the average Bexhill College student gained A Level grades worth 19.1 points - equivalent to more than three C grades.

This beats the county average by no less than 3.3 points and stands head and shoulders above any other school or college in Hastings and Rother, says college principal Paul Ashdown who said he was "very, very pleased" with the news.

He added: "Now we just need the accommodation to match these results!"

The news brings the planning controversy over relocation of the college to Penland Road into sharp focus. Neighbours of both the existing and planned college sites oppose the proposals.
