'We already have a substantial national marketing spend in excess of 20 million but now seek to broaden our brand awareness and help raise the profile of the company, which is why we have turned to TV. '

Marketing Director Claire Day said the 30-second advert will run on both terrestrial and satellite television.

'In addition to directly generating new calls, television advertising is an excellent way of broadening brand awareness. It will help raise the profile of the company, which in turn will help boost response from all other media activity,' she said.

Within the advert, the company's animated character 'Harry' is combined with price orientated messages which echo the company's existing marketing, revolving around an independent survey conducted by Consumer Intelligence naming Hastings Direct as the 'cheapest car insurance provider for 2004'.

Don't miss Hastings Direct's first prime time spot as the advert goes out in the Meridian Region after Coronation Street, at 7.27 on Monday 18th July!
