Biker dies on A22

A MOTORCYCLIST from Crowborough died from his injuries in hospital on Tuesday the day after being involved in a traffic accident involving two cars on the A22 at Nutley.

A MOTORCYCLIST from Crowborough died from his injuries in hospital on Tuesday the day after being involved in a traffic accident involving two cars on the A22 at Nutley.

He was Oliver Burley, 47, of Buller Close, who worked as a private ambulance technician. He was the father of three children, Sarah, Gemma and Adam.

The accident happened at 9.40pm on Monday evening, near Crowborough Road. No one else was injured.

The Honda motorcycle, Ford Escort and Ford Sierra were heading in the same southerly direction at the time.

The road was closed for four hours while accident investigators worked at the scene.

It is understood that there will be an inquest.
