The litter Pickers: who turned up on Saturday did a marvellous job and 12-13 bags of litter were taken to the tip. There were only 2 people to clean the signs and 5 to pick up rubbish dropped by others. However, one lady stopped her car, she had been out earlier and had collected a bag of rubbish that she had in her car, she informed me that she did it once a week. I am also aware that there are others that collect as they walk and on behalf of Brede Parish Council they wish to ‘thank you.’ They rely on Volunteers to do this and sadly it is necessary because of thoughtless people. 3 items of litter already appeared on Kingland Hill the day after we had cleared it. Next time we would like more help as we only managed the A28 lay-by at Brede bridge and up to and including Pottery Lane. From Brede High wood car park including the lay-by just before it, 5 bags of rubbish were picked up in this area and we think we stopped another load being dumped. The lay-by before the egg farm and Furnace Lane. All the lay-bys had tyres in them which were reported on the Monday to Rother District Council. Our Daffodils can nod their heads in our green and pleasant land. Long may it stay so.

Parish Council Newsletter: I have taken over writing it, only because I do not want it to stop as it goes to every house in the Village. If someone in the community feels they would like to do it, please contact me ASAP. Also I need material for it so, Please can every group in the village email me, again ASAP and give me a short synopsis of what your group is about and what you do or your programme and any events that are going to happen. I need the information soon as I need to format the 2nd week of July edition and then the next one will be 2nd week in November and the following the 2nd week of March, I hope this will then be in time to catch all the important dates that occur in our Village life. I am also hoping to raise the profile and membership of every club and group. I apologise that there will be no March edition as we cannot create, edit and print it in time.
