On Saturday May 25 there is a craft workshop at the Village Hall starting at 10am. We are so lucky to have so much talent in East Sussex and fortunately in our own village, many events are coming up beginning with A Musical Evening with Gary Marriott and Duncan Reid followed by a buffet 7.30pm in St George’s Church it should be very enjoyable. Trinity Sunday 26 May Sung Eucharist 9.30am at St Georges Brede followed by coffee, then at 10.30am The teverend R Roberts is the preacher for the Trinity Methodist Church in Broad Oak. The Cricketers will be in action against Lydd at 2pm in the Recreation Ground weather permitting. Between 4pm and 6pm a solo artist in the Rainbow Trout will bring about a Celtic atmosphere.

Monday May 27 Bank Holiday - The uniformed groups have a break as does Age UK Daycentre. The Brede Steam Giants will be on working display all day at the bottom of Waterworks Lane, they are incredibly interesting and well worth a visit.

Tuesday 28 May Brede Luncheon Club meet to socialise and have a lovely lunch do contact Anne Owen on 01424 882025 as soon as possible if you wish to join them. The Mobile Library visits Oakhill Drive 3pm – 3.40pm Reedswood Road 3.50pm - 4.15pm Brede Parish Council Meet in the small hall Planning 7pm Full Council 7.30pm Residents are welcome.

Wednesday 29 May The Brede Crafters meet at 2pm in the Village Hall, followed by Stretch and Tone 9.30am Thursday 30 May The Mobile Library will visit Brede Village Hall 1.25pm – 1.55pm.

Friday May 29 Brede Farmers Market 10am – 12noon.

I am pleased to say that the opening of the Rainbow Trout last Friday and Saturday was well supported, as was the school fête.

The Brede Players presentation of Crowns and Coronets a music hall type of entertainment celebrating the Queen’s Coronation is to be held at the Village Hall on Saturday June 8 at 7.30pm. Tables for 8 people and bring your own food and drink. Tickets available at £5 a head from Bobby Boud 882549 She also has some available tickets also £5 each for Jesus Christ Superstar on June 14. All very good value for an evening out.

On June 9 at 12noon and by kind invitation of Mr and Mrs Vickary there is to be a fundraising event for the repair of the Church Clock at Manor Farm. Entrance of £10 includes wine and nibbles. Tickets available from Bobby Boud or Andrew Burchett 01424 882727
