Broadwater's eco-school

ENERGY-SAVERS at a Broadwater school are celebrating after being awarded eco-school status.

Whytemead First in Dominion Road has become an eco-school for the work it does with conserving energy and water, together with a commitment to reduce litter.

Head teacher Candida Reece said: "We gained healthy school status at the beginning of the year and, as a consequence, two 'eco warriors' volunteered to be on weekly litter picking duty."
