Burns Night quiz at cafe

A BURNS Night quiz held at a Bexhill restaurant raised nearly £300 for The Tree of Hope charity.

The Scottish themed quiz, held at No48 Café, Devonshire Road, was a sell-out and saw a number of local residents getting into the swing of things by donning kilts.

Owner of No48, Andy Rimmer, laid on a special Burns night meal, including haggis, to celebrate the occasion.

Finance and administration officer for the Tree of Hope, Jeremy Marris, said he was delighted with the amount raised for the charity adding: “It was no surprise that the winners of the Burns Night quiz were from the Gael in Sea Road, which sells kilts and all things Scottish!”

Pat Donoghue and her team received a prize of four tickets to No48’s next quiz night, Shrove Tuesday (February 22).

No48 plan to hold a special monthly themed quiz night throughout the year to raise money for the charity.

The Tree of Hope offers ‘hope’ to families of sick children who need specialist medical surgery, treatment and therapy. For further information visit the website at: www.treeofhope.org.uk
