Fair/party: Thankfully the weather held fine for both the Burwash Primary school fete last Friday and the Picnic at the rectory on Sunday. Both events were well attended and great fun. The hard work done by those who organise these happy occasions is well worth it when they are supported. Well done to all those involved, and everyone for going along and helping to raise much needed funds for the School and the Church.
Outings: This week both the Burwash ladies Group and the After Eight club will be going out and about. The BLG will be going to Firle Hall for their monthly outing. While the After Eight club will enjoy a performance of Fiddler on the Roof at Wadhurst. both the groups for ladies would be delighted to welcome new members. They both meet on Wednesday. The BLG in the afternoon at the Burwash village hall. The After Eight’s meeting in the Pavilion at Burwash Common in the evening. For more details about either ring Jan McCartney on 01435 882117 for After Eight’s and Margot Sanderson on 01435 882345 for the BLG.

Hide AdThank you: I would like to say a big thank you to everyone who has ever supported one of the many events that I have organised for charity or the village. Without you I would never have had so much enjoyment over the last 42 years, met so many wonderful people and raised an amazing amount of money. Why am I saying all this now. Because thanks to you I have been lucky enough to be awarded The British Empire Medal (BEM) in the Queens birthday honours list last weekend for services to the community of Burwash. I feel quite over whelmed that I am seen to be worthy of this, I am sure others are equally deserving. But if I didn’t have such a great family and friends and amazing supporters I wouldn’t have been nominated. So thank you everyone
