On Wednesday the annual Christmas Get Together lunch will take place. As always this will be held at the Bear Motel from 12 noon. Places are always much sought after, so if you are one of our senior members of one of the three villages, and you haven’t had an invite, call Steve Mintram on 01882444. This lunch is given by volunteers from the village who fund raise and do the bulk of the work on the day. There will be a raffle for which prizes are always appreciated.

The children waited with anticipation for the unveiling of the Christmas window at Merrivale in the high Street. They were not disappointed. For several weeks we have watched the count down to Christmas and read the sign that the window was under construction. The great unveiling took place on Saturday and I must say that the children were not disappointed. The bay window contains Santa’s sleigh, an upside down Christmas tree, and a Santa’s list, with the names of children of the village on it. The window glitters and sparkles and makes you feel very festive. Well done to Sam & co for yet another dazzling display.
