CAB boosted by lottery grant

VISITORS to Bexhill Citizens Advice Bureau have the benefit of a new touchscreen service thanks to a Big Lottery award of £5,039.

The touchscreen facility is a self-help computer which, along with support from CAB staff, will be available for clients to access designated websites. The aim of the service is to help clients obtain the relevant information they need to help solve problems.

In addition to the touchscreen service three laptops, which will support outreach services, were also purchased.

Attending the launch of the new service was Bexhill Town Mayor Bridget George, Chairman of Rother District CAB Grahame Mountford, Bexhill CAB manager Glenn Jopson and one of the CAB directors, Rita MacDonald.

Of the new service Mr Mountford said: "It's a very useful asset in a recession with the CAB getting busier."

Thanking The Big Lottery for their support, Mrs MacDonald said the new service will "enhance and support the excellent service which the bureau already gives."

Leaflets on the touchscreen will be distributed at various venues throughout the town.
