Car collides with Chichester charity shop - in pictures

A car collided with a charity shop in Chichester today (Tuesday, September 19) causing four casualties.

Multiple emergency services responded to a report that a car had collided with the front of the British Heart Foundation charity shop in North Street at 12.14pm.

While on the scene, firefighters worked to release one person who was trapped as a result of the incident.

Four people – three pedestrians and the driver – have now been taken to hospital for treatment. Police said their injuries are believed to be serious but not life-threatening or life-changing at this time.

A cordon has been put in place to allow emergency services to respond to the collision and to make the area safe, while residents have been urged to avoid the area.

Police are now appealing for witnesses to the incident and have asked anyone with information to get in touch.
