In April this year there was a photographic competition held in the Village Hall to raise funds to support the repair of St Laurence Church, Catsfield. Photographs from the competition have now been printed as a very attractive calendar on sale for £4.50, also some Christmas cards, all of which are to be sold for the same cause. These will be available at the church. For further details please contact Jacqueline Kemp on 772217.

Last Saturday the Christmas Market, which is held annually in the Village Hall to raise funds for the upkeep of St Laurence Church, was a huge success and the wonderful sum of £1,390 was raised. The many visitors enjoyed the attractive stalls arranged around the hall, decked out to look extremely festive and laden with all kinds of good things. Ploughman’s lunches, tea and coffees were served to a steady flow of people and many children visited Santa in his beautifully decorated grotto. Many thanks go to the countless number of people who made generous donations of cakes, prizes and a wide variety of items to sell and to all those who worked so hard to make the whole thing so successful before and on the day.

The curtain rose on the CADS famous pantomime last night and many of you will have already experienced their memorable performance of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table. For those who have left it too late to buy tickets, there will be a review on this page next week, just so that you know what you’ve missed!

Catsfield played top of the table and unbeaten Hollington on 1st December. We played well but unfortunately lost to a better team. Nigel scored with a header and Colin White from the penalty spot made up our two goals in the 2 - 5 defeat. We need a win soon and maybe it will come when we play Crowhurst on Saturday 8th December at home. Perhaps a big crowd will help, so come if you can, kick off 2pm.

The East Sussex Mobile Library will be in its usual place outside the Village Hall tomorrow Saturday 8th December from 4.15pm – 4.45pm.
