Charity valuation day

LOCAL people are being invited to see if they have cash in their attics when the Bexhill and Little Common division of Cancer Research UK hold a valuation day at the Little Common Community Centre on October 20 (10.30am to 3pm).

Branch chairman Doris Borrman said this is the second year that they have held the event which is a local take on the Antiques Roadshow. It is open to anyone who would like their treasures valued.

Mark Sivyer of Sivyer's Antique's, Bexhill, and Mark Ellin of Burstow and Hewitt will be on hand to give their expert opinions. Mr Sivyer said: "Last year there was such a terrific variety of objects; dolls, china figurines, autographs, medals, toys etc., and we were busy from start to finish. People can bring along anything they like, paintings, china, silver, jewellery all sorts of things; we can value almost anything that comes through the door."

There will be a 2 charge per item with all proceeds going to Cancer Research UK.
