Joshua attends the Footsteps Centre in Oxford where he has specialist intensive physiotherapy three times a year.

The therapy has helped him to go from crawling to being able to walk with aids and to walk short distances unaided.

The treatment is not available on the NHS and Joshua’s family and friends hold regular fundraising events to make it possible for him to attend the centre.

Instructor Deb Winchester led the charity zumba class, which was attended by about 20 people.

Tracy Smith, Joshua’s mum, said: “About 20 people joined us for zumba and other people made donations - we raised £135 in an hour which is fantastic!

“This equates to one day of therapy at the Footsteps Centre and we are really grateful to everybody who supported the event.

“Very many thanks to Deb for taking the class and making it such great fun.”

Joshua also has a Just Giving page for anybody who would like to make a donation at www.justgiving.com/joshua-smith1

A trust account has been set up for Joshua and cheques made payable to Joshua Smith Wish List can be sent c/o Jo Lyons, 20 Bunting Close, St Leonards on Sea, East Sussex, TN38 8DG.
