Council revising Lifeline prices

Arun Lifeline is run by Arun District Council and has some 1,860 customers.

A council spokesman said: 'The council is revising its Lifeline prices from April 1, allowing it to invest more in improving its equipment and service.

'Lifeline will now be investing more in cost effective units that can be used time and time again thanks to replaceable batteries.

'Most existing units have sealed batteries which, if they break, mean the whole thing must be replaced. The replacement units, which have detachable batteries, do not need to be replaced as often.' Those who had benefited from Arun Lifeline's service at the touch of a button included people just out of hospital, disabled people and victims of domestic violence or harassment, he added.
