Crews called to combat Littlehampton flat blaze

FIRE crews from Littlehampton and East Preston attended a blaze at a Littlehampton flat, last night (Monday, December 19).

Fire fighters were called to a property in River Road, at 8.18pm, following reports of a fire in a second floor flat in the road.

Officers with breathing apparatus moved in to combat the flames, which had caught in a bedroom at the rear of the property.

Nobody was seriously injured during the incident. Three men were assessed by paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, however none required further treatment.

A spokeswoman from West Sussex Fire and Rescue said the fire is believed to have started accidentally and that the incident is currently under investigation.
