Appeal for witnesses to suspected burglary at Burgess Hill school

Police are appealing for witnesses to a suspected burglary at a school in Burgess Hill.

Officers were called shortly after 7am on Wednesday (March 17), to reports of a burglary at St Paul’s Catholic College in Jane Murray Way, Burgess Hill.

It happened some time overnight, Sussex Police said, and saw damage caused to one of the buildings.

A police spokesman added: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish if any items were taken from inside.

“Anyone who witnessed any suspicious behaviour in the area, or who may have any other information about the burglary, is asked to contact police online or by calling 101 quoting serial 170 of 17/03.”

Rob Carter, headteacher at St Paul’s Catholic College, added: “The school is working closely with Sussex Police to support the investigation.”
