Assault in Horley: Police appeal for witnesses after incident near border of Sussex and Surrey

Surrey Police have issued an appeal for witnesses after a man was seriously assaulted in Horley on Tuesday morning, April 16.

Police said they were called at about 10.45am after reports that a man had been assaulted by a group of four teenage boys in Waitrose car park on Victoria Road.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “The assault occurred after the victim challenged two boys who were believed to have taken alcohol from a shop without paying. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries to his head. The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Four teenage boys from Horley have been arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm, robbery and possession with intent to supply class B drugs. All four remain in police custody.
