Teenager suffers stab wounds in Haywards Heath attack

A 17-year-old boy has been taken to hospital with stab wounds after being attacked in a flat in Haywards Heath.

Police were called to Tilebarn Court in Burchetts Close at 4am today (Wednesday July 17) and were quickly joined by paramedics.

The victim was taken to hospital where he was being treated during the morning for injuries to his body and head.

Detective Sergeant Andy said: “We do not believe that the boy is a resident of the building and it is thought at this early stage that he does know his attacker. As well as being assaulted, he also had his mobile phone stolen from him.

“The incident would appear to have been contained with this block of flats, but we would like to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area in the time leading up to the attack or who has any information about it. Please call us on 101 quoting serial 156 of 17/07.”

The teenager has since been discharged from hospital.
