‘Youngsters’ threatened and car hit with golf club in Hastings burglary

‘Youngsters’ were threatened and a person’s car was hit with a golf club in a residential burglary in Hastings, police said.

Officers added: “A male knocked at the residents’ door, threatened youngsters at the address, then hit [the] residents’ son's car with a golf club, nothing taken.”

Police explained that just one residential burglary was reported to them between August 19-25.

Despite this three commercial burglaries in the town were reported to Sussex Police, according to officers.

Residents have been asked to remain alert to any suspicious activity in their area, and to report any concerns they have to officers.

A spokesperson from Sussex Police added: "There are a number of steps residents can take to protect their property, including alarm systems and CCTV cameras.

“If you have been the victim of a burglary please report [it] online, or by calling 101 – always dial 999 in an emergency/burglary in action.”
