RSPCA took liberties to prove TB case

First things first: I am interested , but not surprised to read that the RSPCA advertising campaign launched earlier this year in a bid to derail Government plans to cull badgers, has breached several rules in substantiation and truthfulness according to the Advertising Standards Authority.

"The RSPCA has not substantiated the claim, nor shown that it was generally agreed by informed opinion," it said.

"No marketing communication should mislead, or be likely to mislead, by inaccuracy, ambiguity, exaggeration, omission or otherwise".

The claim in the full page RSPCA advert was that ' the main cause of the spread of TB in cows is cattle-to-cattle'.
