Falmer

FAIR: Last weekend was a bit of a blur for me. We had our annual Falmer Christmas craft fair and it went very well. Saturday was particularly busy and the village hall was full of people looking at the lovely jewellery, pots, vases, bowls (wooden and pottery), beautiful embroidery, prints, scarves, knitwear and much more. We were kept busy in the kitchen and Jill Burt spent the whole weekend serving up soup, rolls, cakes and cups of tea and coffee. The fair seems to be a permanent fixture in the Falmer calendar now, along with the famous Flower Festival and the various exhibitions in the hall and the church.

EXHIBITION: Talking of exhibitions, the Falmer Families exhibition is on display in St Laurence church and free to view on Saturdays and Sundays through to next year. Do have a look, there has been a massive amount of research put into this show and it makes fascinating reading, plus there are some splendid old photos to go with the texts.

COMING SOON: Look out for details of our Christmas services. We will be having an Advent Carol service on December 2 at 5.30pm and there will be a wonderful concert Nicolae’s Choir on Saturday December 22 from 4pm to 6pm. Look out for further details soon.
