Farmer's Market celebrates six years trading

IT WAS celebration time at Parkhurst Hall, as Bexhill's Farmers Market achieved its sixth year of trading.

To commemorate the occasion, and to show his appreciation, market organiser Stuart Wood thanked stall-holders for their continued support - and with the absence of English chocolates that say 'thank you', gave them all a box of French chocolates called 'Merci'.

Stuart said: "It's been difficult to keep the market going and I do appreciate the stallholders who support the market."

The market, which provides a superb range of quality produce from pies, breads and cheeses to preserves, fruit and veg, sausages and Traidcraft products, relies heavily on the continued support of local people, and it's thanks to their support that last year the market was able to expand into Little Common.

Stuart said: "Despite the difficult economic times, what has grown for us is that, due to public demand, we now hold a market once a month in Little Common."

He added: "We all thank everyone for supporting us."

The Bexhill market is held on the fourth Thursday of the month, and at Little Common - which is held at St Martha's - on the second Thursday of the month.
