Firefighters found garage 'well alight' at Tangmere home

Crews responded to a fire, 'believed to have started accidentally', in a garage on Churchwood Drive shorty after 8.40pm.

A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service said: “Two fire engines from Chichester Fire Station were mobilised to the scene, and upon arrival found a garage well alight.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus brought the fire under control using two hosereels. Fortunately there were no casualties as a result of this fire.

“Firefighters remained at the scene of the incident damping down and turning over, and used a thermal imaging camera to ensure there were no further hotspots.

“The last crew booked away from the scene at 10pm.”
