Football club foundation giving away tickets to Crawley teens

Crawley young people aged 15 to 17 have the chance get free tickets to see the town's football club play on Saturday (March 5) as part of the National Citizen Service Day of Action 2016.

The National Citizen Service (NCS) programme is an once-in-a-lifetime experience for all 15 to 17 year olds that builds skills, confidence and helps them get ahead in work and life.

Birtug Kazim, manager of the Crawley Town Community Foundation, which delivers the service locally, said: “Now in its fourth year, with young people from nearly 3,000 schools participating, its our ambition is to ensure as many young people as possible get the chance to experience and reap the rewards of NCS regardless of their background, ability or ambitions.

“With the backing of Government, participation fees are capped at £50, with financial support available on a case-by-case basis, this is a saving to you of up to £1,500 per young person and subsidised by the Government.”

On Saturday, which also happens to be the NCS National Day of Action 2016, Crawley Town Football Club will play Morecambe at home.

The Foundation is giving away free tickets for teenagers aged 15 to 17 and living in the Crawley area.

The town’s MP Henry Smith, who is backing the initiative, said: “I’m looking forward to supporting the NCS National Day of Action 2016.

“NCS is delivered locally by the Crawley Town Community Foundation and I was delighted to present certificates to graduates of last year’s programme.

“I welcomed the Prime Minister’s confirmation that NCS will received strengthened Government support – projects like this really are helping young people in our town.”

All people need to do is come along to the stadium between 1.30pm and 2.50pm, express an interest in the NCS programme, and take part in some fun activity with the NCS team on the new Community 3G Ball Court opposite Redz Bar at the Checkatrade.com Stadium.
