Fun in the sun at Littlehampton Town Show and Family Fun Day

MADNESS ensued on Saturday, as more than 5,000 people gathered for an afternoon of fun in the September sun.

The annual Littlehampton Town Show and Family Fun Day was held on Rosemead Open Space, with entertainment for young and old.

Organised by the town council, the fun day element of the event was branded a resounding success, with highlights including music from tribute act Ultimate Madness and the Littlehampton Academy Steel Band, and demonstrations by theatre school Razzamataz and the award-winning Sussex Tornados cheerleading troupe.

Town mayor, Mark Butler, said: "Without a doubt this town show was the best!

"The teamwork that went into the preparation for the event paid off, and a wonderful family and community atmosphere was created. Thank you

to everyone who took part."

A spokeswoman for the council added that more than 500 people had entered a prize draw, sponsored by Cuff Miller, to win a Nintendo Wii, and that 15 Madness fans had taken part in a "dance off" to win a t-shirt signed by Suggs and his bandmates.
