GUESTHOUSES and bed and breakfasts in East Sussex are being offered support from a joint safety and advice campaign.

East Sussex County Council, district council environmental health departments, East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service and Tourism South East, have launched a Fit For Purpose initiative, aiming to help small accommodation businesses to comply with a raft of legislation and industry safety rules.

A pack containing business advice and support covering health and safety, food safety, fire safety, trading standards legislation and Disability and Discrimination Act advice is available, complete with check-list.

Special seminars for local businesses will take place in Eastbourne on October 5, Battle on November 20, Uckfield on November 21 and Lewes on November 27.
