The special initiative is aimed at helping individuals to plan for the future while also supporting the local charity that cares for older people, people living with dementia, and children and adults with learning disabilities.

In collaboration with local practitioners in Worthing, Rustington and Lancing, Guild Care is offering the opportunity for people to have their wills drawn up in May as part of Will Writing Month.

Jean Kelly, events and engagement manager at Guild Care, said, “We are delighted to partner with local solicitors who have generously offered their time and expertise to people in our community. By making a charity donation in exchange for having your will created, you’ll not only ensure your future wishes are properly documented, but also contribute to all the work Guild Care does to support those in need.”

The process is simple and straightforward. Anyone interested in taking advantage of the initiative is invited to contact one of Guild Care’s partners listed below and make an appointment in May. Some will hold appointments at their offices while others may arrange a home visit. Practitioners taking part include:

· Paul Stanford & Jay Hemingway of Stanford Legal Services, Worthing – 01903 340186

· Gema West, Katie Foan, Kelly Brown & Tania Clapham of Bennett Griffin LLP, Worthing – 01903 229999

· Emily Jordan of Warwick & Barker LLP Solicitors, Rustington – 01903 775051

· Gabrielle Wagstaffe of Gates & Moloney Solicitors, Lancing – 01903 766046

Appointments can now be arranged for May, with each practitioner providing a limited number of places, so book early to avoid disappointment. A fee will not be charged but people will be asked to make a donation, suggested at £150 for a single will or £195 for mirror wills (couple). All proceeds will go to directly supporting Guild Care’s diverse range of community services.

“At Guild Care, we understand the importance of planning for the future,” said Jean. “Writing a will is something that’s easy to put off, so by making an appointment and getting it done this May, you can protect your loved ones in the years ahead. It’s also an opportunity to record your wishes with regards to any dependent children and any pets so make this May the time to get your will written. Thank you to everyone taking part and especially our participating practitioners for their support, both for Will Writing Month and for those in our community who rely on the services of Guild Care.”
