Hastings play park reopens

The Malvern Way play park, near Broomgrove Community Centre, in Hastings, now has new equipment, including slides and climbing frames.
AmicusHorizon and Hastings Borough Council, with the support of local councillors Kim Forward, Mike Turner and Warren Davies, worked in partnership to transform the park.

Hide AdAn event to celebrate the transformed park was held on Wednesday, at Broomgrove Community Centre.
Jennifer Bates, communications officer at AmicusHorizon said: “It was a really positive reception and it gives the local children somewhere to play and have fun.
“The local landscape has also been improved which is another positive.”
The project has created ‘much needed’ parking spaces around the shop area, along with fencing, trees and shrubs.

Hide AdMayor of Hastings Bruce Dowling said: “Play is a most vital component in a child’s life – for physical, intellectual, emotional and social stimulation.
“These make important contributions to their health, development and learning to form relationships with other people.”
Cllr Dowling, who cut the ribbon to the play area, praised the team in getting the project off the ground.
Jacki White, neighbourhood manager at AmicusHorizon, said: “This is a great example of what can be achieved when we work together to pool resources and ideas.”
