Health awarenessat William Parker

A HOST of hairy caterpillars were worming their way round William Parker recently.

However, they had nothing to do with a visiting insect shower or a school wildlife project.

The caterpillars in question were warming the lips of staff at the sports college as part of Movember – a month- long fundraiser held to raises awareness of men’s health.

The aim was to arouse the curiosity of staff and students with competitions to identify the newly grown facial fuzz of teachers.

Phil Osbourne, science teacher, said: “It was a pleasure to see students take an interest and ask questions which could result in the early identification of health issues in the future.”
