Sunday May 26 10.30am Morning Prayer in The Parish Church.

The Church Market last Saturday was a great success raising £501.50. Plant sales went particularly well.

As some of you will have noticed, the seat in memory of Joan Baker and in recognition of all that she did for the Village is now in place behind the Memorial Hall, overlooking the new playground. The Baker family thanks everyone who donated to this fitting memorial. Special thanks go to the Memorial Hall Trust who generously donated the installation costs. This means a further donation of £170 has been made to St Michael’s Hospice in Joan’s memory.

The 1066 footpath is not the only one to go through fields with sheep and lambs grazing,Unfortunately some dog walkers do not have their animals on leads and on one occasion some were seen ‘’playing’’ with lambs. Any dog loose in a field with grazing livestock can be shot. Another risk is not having your dog on a lead whilst walking along a lane.If the dog is hit by a motor vehicle the law says the accident must be reported and the dog owner is liable. It frightens me that the most dangerous roads in Britain when miles driven are taken into consideration are country lanes in the daylight during the summer.
