It's 'yes' to Asda store

We want Asda! That was the response of the hundreds of residents who viewed the company's plans for a store in Bognor Regis.

More than 700 people went along to the two-day exhibition in the Regis Centre. Support for the proposals was said by the firm to be 95 per cent-plus from those who commented about the proposals at last Friday and Saturday's event.

The reasons for their backing included the need for more jobs in the area and the current lack of shopping choice.

Asda wants to invest 30m in the Oldlands Farm site to include a 4.5m investment installing services for the first phase of a business park next to its store.

The scheme is estimated to be worth 1,500 jobs in the business park.
