LIVE BLOG: Election results out today

THE County Times will be bringing you the results of the council elections as they come in this afternoon.

As the results for Horsham District Council are announced from 4pm today, the County Times will be updating the May Elections Live Blog with all the news.

The Liberal Democrats are already seeing losses across the country and they are defending 13 seats on Horsham District Council. The Conservative Party currently lead the council with 29 seats and there are two Independents.

Some of the wards to watch include Itchingfield, Slinfold and Warnham were the current leader of the council Robert Nye is up against Ian Shepherd, who recently defected to the Liberal Democrats after being the Conservative member for Cowfold, Shermanbury and West Grinstead.

There could also be surprises in Billingshurst and Shipley and Horsham Park where two out the three members in each ward are standing down. No fewer than 12 candidates are competing for the seats in Billingshurst and 11 are standing in Horsham Park.
