The driver of the lorry, a 23-year-old man from the Littlehampton area, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has been released on bail while further inquiries into the accident are carried out by the police.

Officers from Sussex Police's road policing unit in Chichester are appealing for witnesses of the crash to contact them. They particularly want to speak to the driver of a white Ford Transit van who is believed to have seen the crash.
