Man assaulted on way home from pub

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted on the way home from the pub in Battle in the early hours of Saturday morning (July 21).

The 48-year-old was walking home from the Chequers pub when he was attacked in Langton Close at 1.30am.

The victim was pushed over by two men and sustained a small cut to his hand.

The first suspect is described as a white man, aged 18-19, 6’ tall, of medium build and with black hair.

He was wearing a black tracksuit top.

The victim described the man as having a spot on his upper lip.

The second suspect is described as a white man, aged 18-19, 5’9” tall, of medium build and with short blonde hair.

He was wearing a white Le Coste T-shirt and was carrying a black jacket at the time of the attack.

Police believe there may be a witness to the assault as the victim remembers another man stopping to ask if he was okay.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Sussex Police on 101, quoting serial 0182 of 21/7.
