Monday evening - council tax to be set

IT looks like a mid-range Band D Council Tax payer in Rother will pay £1,424.30 in the coming year.

With East Sussex County Council having set its portion of that bill at 1,047,69; Sussex Police at 149.93 and East Sussex Fire and Rescue 90.08, it only remains for Rother to set its levy at Monday evening's council meeting at the Town Hall. The recommendation from the cabinet is to set a Rother element of 188.24 for Bexhill householders.

If the budget report is accepted by Monday's meeting, a special expenses charge for Bexhill of 757,080 will be included in Bexhill householders' bills.
