Museum celebrates Littlehampton railway station’s 150th anniversary

PART of Littlehampton Museum has been transformed into a station waiting room for a major new exhibition celebrating 150 years of the railway coming to town.

And two travellers in time from those Victorian days will be at the museum on Saturday morning for the official opening of the exhibition, in the Hearne Gallery.

Everyone is welcome to the event, starting at 11am, which will also give the opportunity to look round the displays. There will be a Southern Rail film from the 1930s, original documents and artefacts from our collection, and original interviews all about life on the railway in the 20th century.

Children have also worked hard to create model trains for the exhibition, and they will be bursting from display cases in a riot of colour.

Admission and refreshments are free.
