New hospital day unit to open
A medical day unit will open at the Eastbourne DGH in early October.
The unit will care for patients needing treatments such as blood transfusions who in the past would have been admitted to a hospital bed.
Dr James Wilkinson, clinical director for medicine at East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, said: 'The medical day unit will reduce the need for some patients to stay in hospital overnight.'
