A new Bexhill support group for St Michael's Hospice is to launch next week.

A meeting will be held on Friday October 15 in the Cotton Room at St Peter's Community Centre in Church Street to which everyone is welcome.

The session is aimed at discussing what the support group will be doing and how people can get involved.

The meeting will be from 11-12.30pm and the invitation there to pop along for a cup of tea and chat about this new venture.

Julie Brett, community fundraiser at St Michael's, said: "I am really excited about this new group and am looking forward to meeting up with our supporters. This team will be involved in raising money for the hospice in a variety of ways and I'm keen to hear people's ideas."

Pebsham councillor Charlie Clark has long been a supporter and fundraiser for the hospice and is urging residents to join in.

He commented: "There really should be a support group in Bexhill.

Like all charities and organisations donations have reduced...but I think the hospice touches everyone in Bexhill, everyone has a relative or close friend who has suffered from cancer and perhaps needed the service of the hospice."
