New trust CEO looks to build on successes of three schools

Chair of trustees Ian Potter said: “Appointing our first CEO marks our ambition to nurture and create a sustainable model for education from age 2-19 in Rye. Tim is a proven leader with a strong record of transformational leadership and we are delighted to have appointed a candidate of his calibre.

“Tim’s experience and skills make him ideally placed to support high-performance in our family of schools for the benefit of our learners. He will work closely with the board and school leaders to drive our improvement journey towards becoming a highly-effective trust.

“One of Tim’s key early tasks is leading on work to anticipate and plan for the changing needs of learners in the future. Supporting our students to achieve to their maximum potential is at the heart of our vision, equipping them to be independent learners and to transition with confidence into the next phase after their time with us, whether they choose to move into further education, training or employment.”

On his appointment, Tim said: “I am delighted to be joining the trust at this exciting point in the organisation’s development. I look forward to working closely with school leaders, staff, parents, governors and trustees to build on the successes of our schools in the years ahead and ensure every student and young person receives an outstanding education.

“I am passionate about the power of education and the impact it has in changing communities and people’s lives. Across the country, there are probably around a dozen or so combined education institutions which offer a young person an education from the age of two to 19. Rye is very fortunate to be one of those. I look forward to contributing to the establishment of a sound business platform from which the trust, in all its dimensions, can grow.”

Tim joined the trust in September 2016 and has a strong record in leading transformational change, working with various industries including pharmaceutical, construction and hospitality. Tim has also operated in the charitable environment.
