New wheels for L'Arche

Thanks to donations from trusts, individuals and clubs, L'Arche has a new people carrier.

It will enable its residents with learning disabilities to travel in comfort to their many activities and leisure pursuits.

'We are a very active community and transport plays a large role '“ daily, to work placements and college, at weekends for shopping, leisure and cultural excursions and annually for our pilgrimage and holidays, here and in Europe,' said a spokesman for L'Arche.

And the residents agree: 'I think that it is an excellent vehicle,' said George while Kathy likes it '˜because it is the same colour as my clothes'.

And Kevin said he '˜feels like a king when he is in it'.
