On Saturday November 24, 1st Ninfield Scout Group and Crowhurst section attended the Senlac District swimming gala at Summerfields Swimming Pool, Hastings. Representatives from all sections took to the water doing us all proud. Congratulations to Ninfield Beavers who won the shield, presented to them by the District Commissioner, Cliff Wilson. Thanks go to all those that helped out at the event to make it possible.

Ninfield Flower Group are meeting on today, December 7 at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall. This month they look forward to welcoming Nick Grounds with his demonstration entitled “Christmas Carols”. Tickets are £9.00 payable at the time of order and will include light refreshments. Tickets for this event are available from Ellie Barron on 01424 893385. All flower arrangements will be raffled at the end of the evening. Forthcoming events: AGM Monday January 7, 2013 at 7.30pm in the Memorial Hall. All members and non-members are welcome to attend. The competition for 2013 will be a arrangement of your choice in a cup and saucer. The group are looking for new members to join their committee. Hooe Sports Football Club are playing away on Saturday December 8 in the return leg of the local derby against Ninfield. Kick off is at 2pm at Ninfield Recreation Ground. You can track the club’s progress online: www.pitchero.com/clubs/hooesportsfc.

Ninfield Horticultural Society: Following the successful ‘boozy’ lecture, the next event for members is the Christmas Evening on Wednesday December 12. Edible contributions will be gratefully received and the committee will provide drinks and seasonal games. Please remember that from January, their meetings will change to Mondays.

The Hooe Open Group’s next event will be at the Cooden Beach Golf Club where the club will be holding it’s Christmas luncheon. This is now a regular event to end the programme for the year and a special occasion on which the members can invite friends as their guest. If you would like to consider joining the Hooe Open Group, go along to their January meeting being held on Friday 11th which will be a members event and will present an opportunity for new members to get to know each other. Arthritis Research UK are holding a Winter Warmer on January 23, 2013 in the Reading Room (Church Lane, Ninfield) at 12.30pm, tickets are £7.50 per person. All are welcome. Please book your place with Ann on 892593.

1st Ninfeld Scout Group are holding their Annual January Jumble Sale on January 26, 2pm at the Memorial Hall. The group will collect your jumble for you, please contact Dick Creasey 07970559226, Elaine Gausden 07798654614 or Sandra Titherley 892848. Jumble can also be left on Friday January 25 after 6pm or on Saturday 26 after 8am. You are invited to go along and search for bargains enjoy some refreshments or try your luck in the raffle.

Hooe Parish Council are meeting on January 28, 2013 at 7.45pm in the Village Hall. All Hooe residents are invited to attend.
